Editorial and AI Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Our promise to readers
dmbio is run by Mark Debson, with fact-checking support from a small editorial team. Every article is researched, drafted with the help of modern AI writing tools, then fully reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human editor before it goes live. The byline you see is the person who is responsible for the final piece, not the software that helped draft it.
How we use AI assistance
I use AI assistance to speed up early research, outline structure and first drafts. AI helps me move faster across a large number of topics, but it does not get the final word on anything published here.
I do not name the specific tools used, because the lineup changes often and the model behind a draft is far less important than the human review on top of it.
Human review and editing
I, Mark Debson, personally review every article before publishing, with a small editorial team helping verify the details. That review covers:
- Fact-checking names, dates, numbers, quotes and product details against primary sources.
- Removing anything I cannot verify or that reads like filler.
- Rewriting passages for clarity, tone and a consistent first-person voice.
- Confirming that any health, finance or legal context is framed as general information, not advice.
- Checking that images, captions and alt text accurately reflect the article.
If a draft cannot be properly verified, it does not get published. It is that simple.
Sourcing standards
Where possible I rely on primary sources: official statements, court filings, press releases, peer-reviewed research, regulator publications and reporting from established outlets. For fast-moving news stories I clearly mark what is confirmed, what is reported and what is still developing.
Calculators and health tools on dmbio use published formulas and population-level estimates. They are educational, not a substitute for a qualified professional. See the Disclaimer for the full notice.
Updates and corrections
News stories are updated as facts develop. Older posts are revisited when the underlying information changes. If you spot an error, a misattributed quote, an outdated price or anything that needs a correction, please tell me and I will fix it quickly and transparently.
Corrections email: hello@dmbio.com.
Independence
dmbio is independent editorial. I am not paid to write favourable coverage of any brand, product, club or company mentioned on the site, and I do not run sponsored posts dressed up as editorial.
